The over 200 years of Tyranny by the British Govt. backed East India Company and the Govt. itself in India had resulted in the freedom back in 1947 after fierce struggle of freedom. But, as a country we never thought of bringing justice to the act of the foreign country in the last 70 years.
India can go for a legal way to claim a whole lot of compensation which may be equal or more than the cost of today's Britain. It can lodge a official case before the International Court of Arbitration while a official campaign before the UN in parallel . But, for claiming the compensation it has to do a lot of home work in formulating the following:
i. The cost of assets stolen by the British till 1947. A table containing the year, place, no. of items and their cost at that time and most importantly the interest incurred in the last 70 years.
ii The compensation for the no. of freedom fighters killed and imprisoned by the British.
iii. The compensation for destruction done to the Indian civilians and their assets year wise.
iv. The opportunity cost that we lost for not advancing as a nation due to the British intervention.
v. Any other compensation (if any).
We have lot of great legal talent in house and can hire the best outside to fight this fierce fight. I am confident that with proper documents and structured arguments we can go further to claim extra as compensation such a higher amount that our country's infra and social spending can be done without a penny from the govt. for several years.
